Marvel Easter Egg Hunt

Marvel Easter Egg Hunt – What to look out for in Upcoming Movies

For every true Marvel fan, Hunting out the Easter eggs is one of the most exciting parts of watching every Marvel Movie. The riddles behind the easter eggs referenced and the fact that only true Marvel fans can tell the inside joke at the post-credit scenes adds to the fun of it. The easter eggs in Marvel Cinematic Universe are included to build suspense, as a teaser for something coming or are bluffs that will never be called. Easter eggs should be hunted and are worth taking a second look at as they give you an insight into Marvel’s future plans.  In “Captain America: Winter Soldier” Strange was briefly mentioned, now Doctor Strange is a very prominent part of the MCU today.

In ‘Thor’ (2011) the Audience caught a glimpse of Odin’s Trophy Room at Asgard, this aired longer than most Easter eggs by the MCU. In Odin’s Trophy Room Odin had some treasure stashed away within its walls which left fans of MCU excited for the future movies soon to be released by MCU.

The Infinity Gauntlet turned out to be fake, however, the Eternal Flame and The Orb of Agamotto ended up being easter eggs for Doctor Strange and Thor. The Tablet of Life and Time from the Warlock’s Eye could lead to Harokin – Leader of the legions of Valhalla being featured in upcoming Marvel movies as he used it the most in the comics. He will also be a good fit with Hella in future movies.

In “The Avengers” (2012) the early scenes showed a S.H.I.E.L.D base where it was discovered that the infinity stone was misbehaving which led to an evacuation.  During the evacuation, an easter egg was briefly shown – Project Pegasus. In the Comics Project Pegasus was the code name for the research of the Tesseract which is linked to alternative sources of energy. Hence, Project Pegasus in the Avengers Movie is one MarvelEaster egg that will be seen in upcoming movies.

Project Pegasus may lead to the introduction of Blue Shield andKwaiserfrom the MCU to the movie screens with Kwaiser being an amazing addition to the upcoming Avengers movies.

3.    Grandmaster’s Tower

Thor: Ragnarok” (2017) showcased the Hulk as the champion Gladiator in the Grandmaster’s Tower Tournament. The Grandmaster had a huge tower built with the faces of former champions of the tournament Sculpted and hung on the tower. These Champions includedAries, Bi-Beast, Dark Crawler and Beta Ray Bill.

Not all references in Marvel Movies will make it to the big screen but definitely at least one or two of these former champions will be great additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Beta Ray Bill and Aries are powerful characters although on opposite sides of good and evil.

Beta Ray Bill could become a member of the Annihilators Team and Aries will suggest that the Olympic gods are making a feature in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

4.    The Staff of the Living Tribunal

MCU’S “Doctor Strange” (2016) featured various powerful objects which were mixtures of a transcendent and intergalactic nature such as The Eye of Agomodo Infinity Stone also known as The Timestone which was used to trap Dormammu in a time loop and reverse time to undo the destruction caused by Dormammu’s dark dimension merging with earth.  At this point fans of Marvel started hunting for the Easter eggMarvel was going to sneak into this scene. Luckily for them, there were other easter eggs such as The Evil Eye of Avalon, The Wand of Watoomb, The Staff of One, The Voting Noom of Voltron all of which may potentially lead to new plots or introduction of new characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Most intriguing powerful object from Doctor Strange isThe Staff of The Living Tribunal which was used by during the training of Doctor Strange. In the comics, The Living Tribunal is the second most powerful being in the universe behind the One Above All. The Living Tribunal is powerful enough to shut down the power of the infinity stones! Definitely, this is one easter egg that is making it to the Marvel Cinematic Universe sooner than we expect.

5.    The Collector’s Museum

The Collector’s Museum seen in the mid-credit scene of ‘Thor: The Dark World’ (2013) and “Guardians of the Galaxy” (2014) is a treasure chest of Easter Eggs waiting to be hunted out. Certain creatures were up for exhibition such as Howard the Duck, A Dark Elf which we thought the whole species have gone extinct following the events in the second Thor Movie, Cosmo the Space dog which brings many Marvel fans to believe Cosmo will be joining the Guardians of the Galaxy on screen just like in the comic books.

There are quite a number of creatures on exhibit that has not been identified; hence, we do not know the wide number of references this credit scene has in store for the upcoming movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

6.    The S.H.I.E.L.D. Map

At the final scenes of ‘Iron Man 2’ (2010) at the S.H.I.E.L.D’s safe house where Tony Stark was being debriefed by Nick Fury, there was a map in the background which represented to Marvel Fans a sitemap to a treasure of Easter Eggs waiting to be hunted down. The location of The Hulk’s battle in “The Incredible Hulk” (2008) was on there, locations pertaining to Captain America was on there as well. However, one Easter egg Marvel fans are waiting for in upcoming movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean which is the location of the Atlantis.

Where this is correct, we might be seeing Prince Namor the Sub- Mariner who in the comics has been a member of the Avengers and The Illuminati. His introduction will lead to very exciting occurrences in the Upcoming Movies.

In ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’  (2015) while  Stark was going through a collection of UI Chips looking for a replacement for Jarvis, MarvelFans discovered Jocasta.  Jocasta in the comic books was built by Ultron as his bride, however, Jocasta betrayed Ultron and joined the Avengers.  Where Vision dies the probability is higher for Jocasta to be featured as the new android character to the Avengers Team in upcoming movies.

8.    Eric Selvig’s Chalkboard

In ‘Thor: The Darkworld’ (2013) Eric Selvig was shown to have been driven mad by what he experienced in the Avengers (2012). He ended up being incarcerated in a mental institution although he was still busy with Astrophysicists theories which he wrote on the Chalkboard. He made reference to ‘The Fault’ which is a rip in the fabric of the Universe that leads to the Cancer-verse. Reference was also made to ‘The Crossroads’ which are portals to other worlds.

The biggest Easter egg in this scene was ‘The Everglades’where parallel universe transect. These Easter Eggs are pointing towards the Marvel Cinematic Universe clashing with other universes and dimensions in the future.

In‘Doctor Strange’ (2016) Kaecilius and his followers were sucked into the dark dimension after Dormammu was defeated they were transformed into Mindless Ones by Dormammu. The Mindless Ones were created by Plokta and are great weapons of destruction.

TheMarvel Cinematic Universe has quite a number of characters who can summon the Mindless Ones using magic such as Doctor Doom and Dormammu. One of these characters may end up summoning the mindless ones in future Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies.

10.    Eternity

The Guardians of the Galaxy (2017) Peters eyes turned black and starry and he said he can see Eternity. Marvel fans believe he was referring to the Cosmic being known as Eternity whose body in the comic books was also black and starry like Peter’s eyes. It will be amazing to see Eternity featured in upcoming Marvel movies.

Marvel fans find themselves waiting for post-credit scenes, mid-movie scenes and are excited to find out what Easter egg Marvel has managed to sneak into the screens. However, Marvel does not have to wait till the post credit scene to drop a clue, so every Marvel fan must be at alert throughout the movie. One might need to watch the movies the second, third, fourth time just to hunt out the easter eggs Marvel hid in its scenes. Also, don’t forget!
